System Architect, Infrastructure and Deployment

Senior Infrastructure, Performance and Operations Architect
Location: US: ANY LOCATION: MA, NJ, IL, CA, WA

Job Purpose: The Infrastructure, Performance and Operations (IPO) group resides in Global Services in the Global Solutions Engineering and Architecture organization. The IPO group delivers expert services that support solutions focusing on the customer’s infrastructure, systems operations and application performance.

The suite of expert services spans a wide range including installations, upgrades, performance health checks, application readiness risk assessments, load and scale testing analysis, CTI Infrastructure telephony support during projects, IVR integration, system management monitoring and operations integration, hardware resource sizing model estimates, application capacity planning, specialized expert services involving performance Benchmarking, prior Pega software generation (PegaWORKS) migration support to the PRPC architecture generation, Mainframe based zSeries services and adhoc consulting services covering any of the above areas.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide Thought Leadership with respect to all technical aspects of PRPC infrastructure, performance and operations. This includes but is not limited to:
PRPC architecture.
PRPC Frameworks and supporting add-on Pega product architecture.
3rd party supporting technology. Some examples: DB2 for zOS, Websphere, CTI.
Persuasive judgment of how Pega solutions may be implemented to maximize results.
Demonstrate an expert-level (Pega and non-Pega) environment & technical knowledge; ability to implement highly scalable & performing PRPC solutions that strategically fit in the customer’s enterprise.
Educate the customer on Pega’s value proposition, seeks other opportunities where Pega’s solutions could deliver value.
Provide a suite of performance and operations based expert services.
Assist with planning and execution of unit, integration and user acceptance testing.
Ability to act as a critical business partner and trusted advisor.
Strive for excellence, coaching & mentoring junior staff.
Facilitate knowledge transfer of PRPC functionality and application functionality.
Other responsibilities and key result areas will be assigned as required.


Education and Experience Requirements:
Must have authorization to work for any employer in the US
BS with 5 years of experience, or Masters Degree with 2 years of experience (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering).
Experience should be in a systems developer or architect role, providing:
Two years PRPC experience and PRPC Certified System Architect (CSA) certification or five years of comparable business rules, BPM and call center experience.
Experience in analysis, design, development, and deployment of large scale multi-tier enterprise application systems.
Experience in application integration technologies including one or more of the following – EJB, XML, JMS, MQ, RMI, CORBA, .NET, SOAP,LU 6.2, MDB.
Experience with design, implementation and performance of databases on one or more enterprise class technology (DB2, DB2 LUW, Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase, VSAM, IMS-DB).
Experience in operation and performance of application servers (Websphere, JBoss, Weblogic, Tomcat, CICS, IMS-DC, Tuxedo, Encina).
Performance analysis and debugging experience
Industry domain expertise (optional)
PRPC Certification (CSA) is achieved as part of the standard employee enablement. Additional certification of senior PRPC Certification (CSSA) within twelve to eighteen months of joining Pegasystems is desired.
