Lead Performance Architect
Job Purpose: Work with customers, partners and peers to ensure that PRPC-based application solutions achieve and maintain excellent performance and end-user response time. Responsible to investigate, assess, analyze, document and remediate performance issues. Lead, guide and teach developers and administrators in performance analysis tools and techniques and guide infrastructure, network, desktop and database administrators to achieve optimal performance for their PRPC-based solutions.

The Day to Day of this position:
Provide leadership, insight and technical expertise in all aspects of PRPC application performance. This includes but is not limited to:
•PRPC product architecture (Pega trains)
•PRPC application design and implementation
•Database performance and tuning
•Interface implementation and performance
•Network and desktop connectivity, configuration and performance
•Java application server performance and tuning
•Work with minimal supervision providing tactical leadership while demonstrating appropriate technical, cultural, and political awareness, tact and sensitivity.
•Demonstrate expert level understanding of end-to-end application architecture, performance instrumentation and performance tuning, including desktop/browser, network, java application server, database and interfaces/integrations
•Apply understanding to assess, identify and remediate latency, capacity or efficiency issues at every layer of the overall application.
•Analyze ‘sick systems’ to find root cause and remediation.
•Assess application performance and efficiency prior to go-live to ensure customer success.
•As needed, guide application load testing, ensuring relevance and investigating / remediating issues as found.
•Educate customers, peers and partners to achieve better understanding of performance analysis.
•Serve as instructor in formal classroom setting as needed.
•Develop and demonstrate mastery of Process Commander BPM and BRE application development.
•Develop and demonstrate expertise in PRPC architecture and performance tools.
•Demonstrate success in discovery and remediation of application issues and achieving optimal tuning and application response.
•Successfully educate customers, partners and peers in proper performance assessment tools, techniques and best practices.
•Other responsibilities will be assigned as required. Flexibility and ‘can do’ attitude are critical.

Education and Experience Requirements:
•Availability to travel 75%- 100%
•US Work Authorization
•Passion for investigating, problem solving and quality through end to end architecture(root cause and remediation)
•Expert communication abilities with ability to share knowledge and partner as SME
•Previous success in analysis, design, development, deployment and support of large scale multi-tier enterprise application systems.
•Expertise in database application / query design, implementation and tuning (Oracle or DB2 LUW).
•Experience in configuration and operations
•Expertise in database server configuration, operation, performance and tuning (Oracle, MSSQL, DB2/UDB or comparable).
•Experience in application integration technologies including one or more of the following – EJB, XML, JMS, MQ, RMI, CORBA, .NET, JCA, SOAP,LU 6.2, MDB, JDBC or comparable).
•Experience in operation and performance of application servers (WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic, Tomcat, CICS, IMS-DC, Tuxedo, and Encina). or comparable software components
•Experience in one or more programming languages, preferably object oriented languages including Java or C++.
•Competence with scripting tools and languages (shell/gnu, JCL, Rexx, Perl, etc.).

PRPC Certified System Architect credentials are to be achieved as part of the standard employee enablement in first two months of employment. Certified Senior System Architect credentials are to be achieved within first six months of employment.

Senior System Architect(Multiple Openings)
Senior System Architects are technical leaders, responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of PRPC (PegaRULES Process Commander) based solutions. They adapt to the challenges of changing environments and infrastructures to meet client deliverables. Working out on client sites they become exposed to and experts in overcoming the complex obstacles many businesses face. Once new hire training is complete, Senior System Architects (SSAs) will have developed the skills in PRPC to complement their prior experience to be a senior member of our implementation teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provides thought-leadership to fellow team members and the client across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.
This includes scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, UAT and production deployment.
Ensures delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional requirements.
Provides technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to GCS and/or Product engineering.
Identifies project technical risks.
Ensures delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed. Works in conjunction with Engagement Leader to size, manage scope and risk.
Provides support and technical governance focused on one or more projects at a single client.
Advanced knowledge of the PRPC Architecture and all PRPC design and implementation features.
Solid understanding of reuse and portability in terms of enterprise solutions seeking to determine and develop repeatable, efficient and optimal ways of implementing Pega.
Product SME that acts as a resource to the organization; pro-actively responds to ad-hoc questions from the field.
Provides specialized knowledge within industry domain and frameworks.
Acts as the mentor to all team members on their assigned project tasks.
Participates in the development of additional consulting opportunities within the customer base.
Focused on customer success (realization of business benefit).
Other responsibilities and key result areas will be assigned as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree with 7 years of experience, or Masters Degree with 4 years of experience (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering).
Experience building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions.
Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business centric and process based applications.
Exposure to a variety of technologies, Including, but not limited to, WebSphere or Weblogic, J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Java), .Net, Oracle, DB2, and MS/SQL.
Demonstrated knowledge of and applicability of Object-Oriented techniques and principles.
Specialization in a functional area or industry domain, including healthcare, insurance, or financial services.
Demonstrated leadership and/or mentorship abilities and professional communication skills.
Prior consulting or client service delivery experience is a plus.

Travel Requirements:
Must be able to travel 100% (Monday-Friday) to domestic client sites.
